Performing Craft is a platform that utilizes the power of the collective. The project aims at investigating and visualizing the artistic craft's performative potential and highlighting the qualities at the intersection where art crafts and performance art meet.
The underlying themes are about how delimitations, social patterns and materiality can create another reality. Performing Craft wishes to create a dialogue where the relationship and the definition of both the common and the individual get an opportunity to be discussed and perhaps renegotiated. All exhibitors have a subjective input to the artistic craft's performative domains.
Terese William Waenerlund initiated and curated the project. Contributing artists are Diana Butucariu, Mirja Leierth, Sandra Lundberg, Erik Thulén and [krig] -Karin Bäckström and Jon Perman. Performing Craft is shown as a walking exhibition that will be launched in an exhibition at Gustavsberg Konsthall in spring 2017. From there, the project will continue to Österängens Konsthall during the autumn 2017.
